I was very fond of Richard, he was a wonderful, kind, gentle and caring man. He reminded me a lot of my own Dad and no doubt will be missed as much by his family too. I will never make sticky date pudding again without thinking of him. Anne, Hari, Lily, Rohan, Oisin and my extended family.

Dick, you are a Tama legend!

You extended a warm Tama welcome to me as a fresh bronzie.
You badgered me to give my best as Chief Instuctor..
You were so very proud of us all when Tama won the Scotts Head Carnival!

It feels like the ground beneath Tama has forever shifted.

Our club’s foundations have your name on it.

My cousin Richard possessed an exceptional love and respect for his immediate and very extensive family members. He was family orientated from an early age and kept a close watchful eye over his parents, siblings,  Grandparents Narnie and Grampsie Sheldon and his numerous Aunts and and Uncles.

Despite  marrying Elena and establishing their own family with the birth of his two sons, Steven and Billie of whom he was very proud, Richard endeavoured to maintain his Sheldon family connections.

Although, at times your phone calls were hard to decipher, your calls and text messages will be missed by me. Rest in peace dear Cousin Richard.

Dick was a huge and wonderful part of our lives at Tama surf club for so many years. A wonderful man and leader who showed so much care and patience (especially when trying to teach us March Past. We were terrible!). Such great and fond memories, may he rest in peace. Sending love and strength to Dick's family, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

i will always remember Richard in his front garden smiling to the sun. A great neighbour and human being! May you rest in God's glory.
