The site offers 4 main functions to a visitor:

Offers a step by step interactive funeral plan to assist visitors with critical steps needed to a funeral for someone departed, including a directory of businesses to assist your needs
A complimentary funeral landing page for the departed you wish to celebrate together with Events showing both times and maps and addresses
Within each funeral planning journey the site offers a unique RSVP platform as well as free communication tool (SMS/Email/Facebook/Twitter) to help organisers get the message out to their guests (also helps guests respond in advance for better preparation by the organiser)
Offers a permanent Memorial Platform which can host videos, images and tributes (posted by guests of the departed)

Our funeral is already planned – Can I still use the site?

We already found a funeral home, so should I still consider using yourdeparted.com?

Absolutely Not – Its free to use as a helpful resource for families in need.

You will be glad to know that there are no costs to create and host a Funeral Page on Your Departed.

What’s more is that you can also send invites via SMS, Email or Social Media for free too!

How can I post a Tribute on a Funeral (or Memorial) Page

Be advised that submitted material is available immediately for all to see.

Simply visit the departed’s funeral or memorial page and locate the tribute section to post your message.

Don’t forget that both images and video can also be uploaded together with your tribute if desired.

*Currently post-submission editing is not available once a tribute has been submitted.

Upload Main Image

upload an image from your computer or device.
The ideal size of the image is 400 x 400 pixels for optimal presentation speed on the site.

Other sizes are ok if the pixels are a box shape
because they will scale up or down accordingly

Using Maps

Enter by typing in an address site

You can easily locate a place on the map accurately by trying the following methods:

Start typing in the address while confirming the location by simply double checking with the Map details underneath (it auto-refreshes based on the input information)
Type in the general location then go to the map and click on the matching landmark displayed on the map (a small pop-up will appear with the details of the venue)

Once the address pop-up appears click on the address and this will be captured in the address field.

*If the map is too small try clicking the square in the top right corner of the map to expand to full-screen view

†If the venue is large or has several areas (e.g. West Chapel) please modify the address by including the name or details at the start of the field.

**How to turn Location Services ON or OFF for specific apps**

Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
Make sure that Location Services is ON.
Then scroll down the screen to find the internet browser type that you are using (Chrome/Safari/Firefox).
Tap the matching browser and select an option:
- While Using (the App): Allows access to Location Services only when the app or one of its features is visible on screen. If an app is set to While Using the App, you might see your status bar turn blue with a message that an app is actively using your location.
- Always: Allows access to your location even when the app is in the background.
If you are unsure about leaving the location setting on, once you have finished marking the Burial site on Your Departed, then for the respective browser simply choose the following option:
- Never: Prevents access to Location Services information.

Open your device’s Settings app .
Tap Security & Location Location Mode.
Choose High accuracy or Battery saving. Both modes can use Wi-Fi, mobile networks, and sensors to determine location.

Adding a Single Contact

To add a contact simply follow the instructions below:

Fill out the name of the person you want to invite
Choose to fill out either an email address or mobile number (or both)

* The invitation section needs to have at least 1 contact to be able to move forwards

† The selected invitation used for the guest is shown after it a message has been sent, simply hover over the icons next to the contact name

‡ Contacts added can be re-used for other profile (i.e. used again for a different memorial page or funeral page)

Adding Multiple Contacts

**To add several contacts (at the same time) use the following instructions in the Add Contacts section:**

Download the CSV file using the link
Use a program such as Excel or similar to edit the tables
Add your list of contacts
Upload the list using the upload link

* The contact section needs to have at least 1 contact to be able to move forwards
